I haven't done a polish post in a while now-which is weird since I have purchased approximately 10 new colors since the summer.  I thought I would have fun with some neutral fall polishes.  I used Essie's Chinchilly and Essie's Master Plan.  Here's what I did:
Step 1: Polish all nails with Chinchilly except the ring finger, paint both ring fingers in Master Plan.  Let them completely dry (I used Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri topcoat to speed up the process). I love the look of one slightly different colored nail, but I decided to play with my polish a little more.
Step 2: Use tape (I used painter's tape) to create a striped effect on both ring finger nails.  Fill in the stripes with desired polish color.  I used Revlon's Powder Puff (it's a matte white).  Let completely dry-make sure not to rush this part, if you take the tape off too soon your lines won't be crisp!
Step 3: Remove tape and apply a top coat.  Voila!

If you are really good with a polish pen, you could use that instead.  I'm just not good at drawing with my left hand, so I thought I would try using tape.  Think of all the possible designs you can make with the help of a little tape!
