I think there are about a million different names for the secret santa game in which you get to steal other people's gifts.  I call it pirate santa.  With pirate santa it is important for me to have the best gift, because I like when people steal the gift that I brought...naturally.  The people that you are playing with definitely influence the type of gift you choose, a game with friends is way different then a game with family.  But, here are some ideas to get you started!
For Fun

For Keeps
Very Merry Plate $7.95 each
Vinturi Wine Aerator $39.95
Chalk Note Glassware $3-10.00
Blanc & Rouge Carafes $14.95 each

It seems a lot of my pirate santa gifts are related to drinking accessories, I apologize if that doesn't work for you.  I was just finding really fun drinking related gifts!

I am the first to admit that getting gifts for the guys in my life is usually a struggle.  I am not very good with electronics devices or picking out video games.  But, I really love to find the perfect gift for everyone on my list, guys included, and I spend a lot of time on non electronic gift research.  I thought I would share some of the fun stuff I have found so far...

P.S.: Yo hubs, don't think you are getting everything on this list...

I'm a huge believer in homemade and personalized gifts-sometimes they are just better than anything you can find in a store.  As a bonus, they are usually less expensive then something you can find as well.  Here are some great ideas for DIY gifts (click on the pictures to link to the directions).
Etched Glass Ware
This project is so simple and you can make so much with it!  You can make bottles like the ones above, or etch a personalized note on a vase, or how about taking a beautiful storage jar and etching it's contents (and maybe even filling it up for the gift).  Like etching "something sweet" and filling it with their favorite candy!
Burlap Sign
This crafty blogger made a sign for her laundry room, but really the possibilities are endless of what you could create with this craft.  You could take a poem, song lyrics, anniversary date, funny inside joke, anything really and print it on the burlap.  Frames don't have to be expensive either, Target clearances out their frames fairly frequently.  I also get cheap and cute frames from Ikea and Christmas Tree Shop.
Monogram Mugs
We all know that I love monogrammed things (remember?), so I definitely love this project!  And once again, you can put whatever you want on it, not just a letter.  Be creative!
Salvaged Wood Sign
Just like the burlap sign, there are so many possibilities for what you could make with your sign.  The distressed look is still very popular, but even if you like a more polished look, you can make that work with this project too (just make sure you use matte paint).

And so it begins...I will be posting my Cheap Chic Gift Guides now that the holiday shopping season has officially begun!  I will still be doing other types of posts as well, but I will be trying to do a few gift guides each week.  Here goes...

Some Cheap Chic jewelry:

Happy Monday!  I have always had a small (j/k huge) obsession with monogramming.  Who knows?  Maybe it's because I never went to summer camp and had my name stitched in my underwear?  But anywho...it seems personalized gifts are the "it" thing right now and I'm definitely not complaining.  I thought I would share some of my favs.
This particular one is from etsy and it's $12.95 for 10 cards.  I love having personalized cards to send little thank you notes in.  These are super simple and I love the script that they use!
Seeing as I am the crazy dog lady, I really love this one.  I'm thinking about a Yorkie pillow that reads:  Boo-protecting us from the mailman since 2007 (since she never fails to wake me up extra early post-night shift when the mailman comes).  I would totally do it, but they don't have a Great Dane pillow to put on the other side of the couch, super bummed.
I already bought these and I am in love.  I purchased 2 big and 2 small (for the dogs of course!) and it was only $50 total because they are on sale and are offering free shipping!  Can't beat that!  And they are from Pottery Barn so the quality is great.
Cast Metal Letters ($7.99-$55)
On sale!
I love these letters!  There is so much that you could do with them!  They are on sale at Restoration Hardware right now, so get them while they are hot.  They usually sell for $10 to $69 so that can really add up depending on what you are spelling.  They come in 2 different colors, they are worth checking out if you have been looking for some letters to decorate with!  (I might get some for bookends or to decorate the wall going up the stairs).

Don't forget, please please follow me on Facebook or Bloglovin' to show me some love!
