Any polish lovers like me out there? Here's a few new finds in polish for you.
I was flipping through the March issue of People's Style Watch and I found this new site. Lacquerous.com works like a Netflix account but for polish. You get 3 polishes and a pre-paid return package. You get to use the polish and then return for another 3 picks. With brands like Chanel, Mac, and Dior the cost of 1 shipment ($18) is equal to or less then the cost of purchasing one of these designer polishes. It's a pretty good deal (and would make a great gift) for someone who loves polish but doesn't want to break the bank with the designer hues.
These fancy brushes are the ASP Nail Art Brush Set which can be found at Sallybeauty.com. The set includes 4 brushes that are perfect for creating all types of nail art and designs. The set is $14.99 and as long as you clean them and take care of them, they should last a while.
I love having pretty polish and I think it's great that there are so many new products for nail obsessed people like myself!

I am still a Pinterest addict-my little blogging hiatus didn't change that. So I have a few recipes to share that I tried out and loved.
Oatmeal Applesauce Muffins

These muffins were incredibly easy to make...and in case you forgot I detest baking so the recipe has to be written at a 3 year old level for me to try it.
Honey Mustard Pretzel Chicken

This chicken was really good. I used thin sliced chicken because that's what I had and it only took 15 minutes to bake. The sauce is so good and it keeps the chicken super moist. This is going into the keeper recipes, just one slight change I think I will make. I am going to swap crushed pretzels for panko the next time because the pretzels were a little messy and I don't have a food processor, so they weren't small enough pieces for a pretty presentation.
Oh, and a quick update from yesterday. My interior decorator approves of the new pillows.

That's correct. I needed paper towels yesterday, and we were fresh out. So I went to Target. It started as an innocent trip to Target for paper towels, hairspray, and Luna bars. But wait until you see what I got. It wasn't my fault, everything was on clearance.

First up: they started clearancing out the Nate Berkus home collection. I have been waiting for this for weeks, maybe even months. Although the ceramic tortoise shell that I have been eyeing was still full price, I did pick up 2 of these baskets.
They were each uniquely shaped so it took a whole to find 2 similar ones. I'm not entirely sure where they are going yet, possibly the nursery, but I had to get them. The baskets were $19.99 originally, I got them for $5.98 each. I'm so proud of myself.

My next purchase has to do with this fella:
He prefers to lounge like a human in the corner of our sectional which I suppose would be ok except I like to keep decorative throw pillows there. Every month or so Benny likes to shake things up and redecorate for us. Exhibit A:
So whenever I find cheap pillows I grab them. I got these 2 on clearance for $9.98 and $7.48. I call it a win.
Last but not least I got a few things for myself from an end cap in the cosmetic section. Sometimes it's fun to try new products and these were super cheap so I figured why not?
The Covergirl eye shadow stick was $2.08 (regularly $6.94) and the Physicians Formula eye shadow strip was $6.74 (regularly $9.64). I'll let you know if I like them once I try them out.

No worries though, I remembered the rest of the list too. And, the whole trip was under 100 bucks which is a huge accomplishment for any trip involving me and Target.

The hubby and I had decided way before we were pregnant that we would have to find out the sex of the baby. So now we are counting down the time until we go to our 20 week ultrasound appointment...3 weeks and 3 days... I wasn't kidding, we are literally counting.

I wanted to have a fun gender reveal party since I love any excuse to throw a party, but that was immediately veto'd by the father-to-be (since when does he have a say?). Instead, we came to an agreement to have an intimate dinner party at our favorite local restaurant and cut a reveal cake at the end of dinner. This is not stopping me from purchasing a few small trinkets to make the dinner more personal and fun.
I found these pins on Etsy (there are actually a bunch of different pins and other great gender reveal ideas on Etsy if you are in the market for that sort of thing). I will ask our guests to place their vote for girl or boy and wear their pin for the reveal.
I have also already planned my outfit for the night-shocking I know. The hubby and I will wear neutral colors so as not to sway the voters. I bought this white dress from Forever21, at $14.50 it was a great deal!

The dinner is actually a month away from tomorrow, so I have a little more time to purchase a million more things. I can't help myself, I'm so excited!

Just a few of my current obsessions to pass the time.

Current in Clothing:
I feel like the sweater fits a little more tight then I prefer, but if you get a size up it's flowy and has a dramatic high-low which hides the booty.
Current in DIY:
Awesome DIY for the dogs! Freeze water and/or broth with toys and treats in it. This will keep them busy for hours this summer!

Current in Food (except my food preferences change about every 30 seconds):
Florida's Natural Fruit Snacks

These fruit snacks are super chewy and satisfy my candy craving for only 50 calories a pack.

Currently Making Me Laugh:
Anyone who has a dog can definitely agree with this!

I'm baaaaacckk! There was a little glitch with starting Shoes, Sweat, & Beers, and it had to do with my lack of beer drinking. Which was only an issue because I went and got knocked up. Oops. No worries though, we are super excited for Baby Pop 'N Locke to arrive this summer!  Here is our pregnancy announcement photo...a play off of our engagement photo (which also happens to be the photo at the top of the blog).  The photo was taken by our awesome friend/photographer, check him out here: yomattfoto.com.
So, to add a little extra excitement to my life I thought I would restart my personal blog. For those of you who aren't pregnant, don't worry, there will still be plenty of non-pregnancy info to entertain you. But of course, I will have a few cheap & chic baby posts too! And naturally, no shortage of puppy pics!
Here's our Benny all grown up and ridiculously cute!
